Hyundai i20

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor in South Korea, is the fastest growing car manufacturer in India. HMIL with its fully integrated state-of-art manufacturing plant near Chennai boasts of its quality design, engineering expertise, testing capabilities, and production advancements.

Since Hyundai’s inception in India, the company has rolled out a number of successful car models. With all its range of cars, Hyundai has recorded a growth of 9.2% that accounts for total car sales of 327,160 vehicles in the calendar year 2007. In the Indian car market it clocked a growth of 7.6 in domestic sales and 11.8% in exports.

The car portfolio and sales also includes a huge sales figure attributed to one of the most successful Hyundai car series, the i-series that has carved its own niche here. Following the successful Hyundai i10 and Hyundai i10 kappa, another i-series to hit Indian shores is Hyundai i20.

Hyundai i20 makes a remarkable addition to Hyundai’s car portfolio with its beauty, elegance, style, and performance. The new i-series designed at the Russelsheim facility in Germany is manufactured in India and is now ready for its first shipment to Europe. It is soon to be introduced in the domestic market with high leaps and bounds.

Though the new i-series, Hyundai i20, is designed and manufactured with an emphasized focus on the needs of European market, it is definitely going to bring a new revolution in the compact car segment in India. The new car delivers a fresh, modern and elegant look with its slim grille flanked by large air dams, creases on bonnet, large headlamps, tight shut line, vertical tailgate, astounding space under the tailgate.

It is introduced with an option of three engines, 1.2 litre, 1.4 litre, and 1.6 litre, in both petrol and diesel version. Spacious cabin created of a longer wheelbase becomes an USP (unique selling point) of the i20. In addition, the MacPherson strut suspension coupled with a rack and pinion power-assisted steering claims interesting dynamics, delivering enjoyable handling and pleasurable driving.
